With a new year comes new trends! Yes, more ways to spice up your living spaces! One of the trends I’ve had my eye on is incorporating semi-precious stone accents – I don’t think this trend is for those of us that are shy about making design choices, but there are tons of small and subtle ways to incorporate this detail in your space and get in on the action. I’m seeing this trend a lot in wallpapers, wall décor, table lamps, book ends, coasters, and drawer pulls. The latter is my FAVORITE. I’m a sucker for furniture and am constantly looking for ways to revamp my old pieces I’ve collected over the years. Purchasing some agate knobs is certainly on my list this year – such a fun way to add a colorful statement and bring that drab credenza back to life.

What a great way to make a bold statement – I would put it in a dining room for an elegant touch or in a powder room. It’s always fun to do unexpected things in powder rooms, especially if you think this pattern might be a little “too much” for your everyday décor in the main living spaces of your home.

We’ve been experimenting with this trend, and have some great inspiration ideas at our showroom!  We created pillows with a semi precious stone printed fabric and a rich velvet welt trim as well as a relaxed roman valance with contrasting white banding accents.
